Our Founder
Lopamudra is the Founder and Creative Director of AltaRasa. Born and raised in Kolkata, she spent over a decade in the healthcare sector, leading hospital operations at a senior management level before transitioning to fashion, driven by a longstanding interest in culture, craft, and textiles.
Her perspective is shaped by travel, observation, and lived experiences across diverse contexts, alongside early exposure to textiles and personal style through her grandmothers. Through AltaRasa, she champions a philosophy rooted in thoughtful editing- choosing with care and building wardrobes that evolve over time.
The focus remains on pieces that travel well, wear well, and reveal deeper value over time, reflecting her belief in fashion that balances range without excess, intelligence without loudness, and enduring personal relevance.
She brings together designers from South Asia and the wider region whose work translates multicultural heritage into contemporary, globally relevant design narratives, creating fashion
that encourages appreciation, dialogue, and cross-cultural connection.
